Do insurance companies cover ocular prosthesis?

  • Many insurance companies provide coverage for an ocular prosthesis.
  • ALL insurance companies require documented medical necessity to consider coverage for prosthetic care and most companies will provide coverage.
  • Contact our office for help with your particular insurance company's requirements. We will be happy to provide you and/or your doctor's office with the required forms and information.
  • Our office will happily verify your eligibility, benefit coverage, authorization requirements, and any expected out of pocket charges.
  • Of course we recommend that you discuss your needs with your insurance company as they will be processing and determining the payments. (**Always ask for the insurance representative's name and call reference number for future reference).
